Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Cheats and Console Commands

The PC version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 ships with a developer console. It is closed by default, opens with one launch option, and its cheat commands add groschen, spawn items and turn the lockpicking shake off. Henry still gets hungry, tired and hurt, though, and that is where the console runs out.

Takeaways Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 console in three steps

  1. 1 Add the launch option Steam library, right-click the game, Properties, Launch Options: -devmode. Without it the cheat commands do nothing.
  2. 2 Open the console in game The tilde key, left of 1 on a US layout. A text line appears at the top of the screen.
  3. 3 Type the command, case matters wh_cheat_money 5000 adds groschen. wh_cheat_addItem needs the item's ID. Commands are case-sensitive.

One launch option stands between you and the console

Warhorse built Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on CryEngine, and CryEngine games carry a console. In this one it is locked until you start the game with -devmode. On Steam that is the Launch Options field under Properties, the same box people use for -dx12 or windowed flags.

With the option set, the tilde key opens a command line in game. Everything below was checked against patch 1.5.6, the Jester update of 25 June 2026, and follows a maintained Steam community guide to the KCD2 console. Commands are case-sensitive, which explains most reports of a command “not working”.

The commands

CommandWhat it does
wh_cheat_money 5000Adds that many groschen
wh_cheat_addItem <ItemID>Puts an item in your inventory by its ID
wh_sys_NoSavePotion 1Save without Saviour Schnapps
wh_rpg_OneShotKill 1Enemies drop on the first hit
wh_pl_LockPickingShakeOverride 0Removes the shake in the lockpicking minigame
wh_pl_LockPickingDOF 50More time on a lock before the pick breaks
wh_horse_StealCurrentHorseThe horse you are on becomes yours
wh_ui_showHUD 0Hides the HUD, 1 brings it back
cl_fov 75Sets field of view
wh_rpg_getLocationPrints your coordinates
goto x y zTeleports to coordinates

Item IDs are the sticking point. wh_cheat_addItem wants an internal identifier, not “Longsword”, and the identifiers are long strings you look up in a database. Money and the lockpicking variables are the commands most people end up using, because they need no lookup.

Godmode exists as a script line rather than a command: a buff added to the player’s soul by its ID. It works, and it is the kind of thing you paste once from a guide and never remember.

Where the console stops: Henry is still a person

Kingdom Come simulates a body. Hunger, exhaustion, injuries, dirt and blood on clothes, armour that wears down, food that spoils, a horse with its own stamina bar. Each of those is tracked on its own and recovers on its own schedule, and none of them has a console variable in the table above.

That is the pattern with this console. It reaches the wallet, the inventory and a few minigame settings. It does not reach the survival layer that makes a Kingdom Come sword fight go badly because you have not slept. A player who wants that layer switched off has to keep typing, or has to look elsewhere.

There is also the small matter of the launch option. Every command above dies the moment you remove -devmode, and the option has to be present on every start.

Where the trainer overlaps, and where it goes further

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 trainer has 47 cheats, five of them free. Three of the 47 are the console variables people type most, as switches: No savior schnapps needed, No lockpick shaking and Easy Kills. Add Unbreakable lockpick, which the console only approximates with a longer timer.

The larger share is the layer the console does not have. Fifteen cheats work on health, stamina, energy and hunger, among them free infinite stamina and free infinite energy. No injuries, no hunger, infinite horse stamina, ignore fall damage. Eleven cheats sit in items and durability: super durability for gear and separately for food, zero carry weight, clean clothes, no blood, three speeds of food spoilage for players who want it harder.

That last point applies across the list. Get 1.5x and 2x damage, faster energy drain, half experience and no experience all exist next to godmode, and the free gold cheat has a partner that sets gold to almost nothing.

Two commands, or the whole body

The console for groschen and the lockpicking shake. Two commands, both short, both free. Set the launch option once and forget it.

The trainer for Henry’s body. Hunger, exhaustion, injuries and durability have no commands, and those are the systems that decide whether you enjoy the fights. Single-player, as the game itself is.

How do you enable cheats in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

Add -devmode to the game's launch options in Steam, start the game, and press the tilde key to open the console. The wh_cheat commands only respond with that option set.

What is the money cheat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

wh_cheat_money followed by the amount, for example wh_cheat_money 5000. It goes straight into Henry's purse.

Is there a god mode command?

There is a script line that adds an invulnerability buff to the player, but it is a workaround rather than a command, and it has to be typed exactly. A trainer switch is the cleaner route for godmode.

Do console commands work on PlayStation or Xbox?

No. The console is a PC feature. On consoles there is no launch option to set and no way to open it.
