No Man's Sky Cheats on PC

No Man's Sky cheats are game settings. Creative mode removes resource costs, and since the Waypoint update of 2022 a Custom game lets you change survival, combat, crafting and costs from the pause menu, at any time. There is no console and no code screen. What the settings never hand out is money: Units, Nanites and Quicksilver are still earned.

Cheating in No Man’s Sky means changing the rules of the save

No Man’s Sky has had no developer console on PC since its release in 2016, and no code screen. There is nothing to type. What it has are game modes and, since 2022, a page of settings that can be changed while you play. Both are deliberate, both are free, and Hello Games describes them openly in its patch notes.

Creative mode is the oldest of them. It came with the Foundation update in November 2016, and the idea has not changed: explore without limits, build and craft without resource requirements. If what you want is a base without the mining, that is the whole answer.

The Custom game, and what you can turn off

Waypoint, update 4.0 from October 2022, turned the modes into presets and added a Custom game in which every setting can be adjusted. The Waypoint notes list what is covered. The ones that work most like cheats:

  • Free crafting on or off
  • Damage from combat and from the environment
  • Life support and hazard protection, how fast they drain, or switched off entirely
  • Death consequences, from none to permadeath
  • Fuel use for technology
  • Item and upgrade costs, and the range of shop items
  • Maximum stack sizes in the inventory
  • Enemy health for ships, Sentinels and creatures, and how often fights start
  • Warp drive upgrades, whether specialized drives are needed for certain star systems

Between Normal and Creative sits a preset Waypoint introduced for players who want less survival, called Relaxed. The notes describe it as the full Normal game with a much smaller need to manage survival systems, lower danger and less grind. In Relaxed, ammunition, the mining laser and the terrain editor cost no fuel, while the rest of the technology still has to be fed. For many players that is enough, and nothing else in this guide is needed.

The useful part is that you do not have to start over. According to the same notes, the vast majority of difficulty settings can be changed at any time, in any mode, from the pause menu, and switched back again. Permadeath keeps some restrictions of its own.

The current version is COSMOS, 7.0 of 9 September 2026. It reworked space, with a new star map, hulks to salvage and space stations, and its announcement does not mention the difficulty settings. The full list of changes is in the COSMOS notes.

Units, Nanites and Quicksilver stay earned

Look at that list again and one thing is missing. You can make crafting free and items cheaper, but no setting puts money in your pocket. All three come from what you do in the game, and none of the sliders touches them. A starship you want, a better multitool, a freighter upgrade: each still costs currency the save has earned.

The other thing settings cannot do is language. Alien words are learned through play, a few at a time, whatever the difficulty says.

What the trainer adds

The No Man’s Sky trainer has 25 cheats. The three free ones are infinite sprint, infinite jetpack and set selected item to max count, the last one a quick way to fill a stack of whatever you just mined.

Four of the premium cheats go straight at the gap from the last section: add Units, edit Units, increase Nanites and increase Quicksilver. Decode all words solves the language problem in one click. The rest splits between the ship and the suit. For the ship, infinite hyperdrive, infinite pulse engine, infinite ship starts, infinite deflector shield and no photon cannon overheat. On foot, godmode, infinite life support, an infinite scanner, mining laser, terrain manipulator and blaze javelin, no multitool overheat, infinite ammo and grenades, no reload, one hit kill and no wanted level for the Sentinels.

Settings or trainer

The Custom settings answer most of what people mean by No Man’s Sky cheats, and they cost nothing. Switch on free crafting, turn hazards off, set death to no penalty, and the game is a sandbox.

The trainer earns its place where the settings stop. It is for your own save in single-player; No Man’s Sky has a large shared multiplayer side, and that is not where a trainer belongs.
