Anno 1800 Cheats on PC: Sandbox Settings, Trainer

Anno 1800 does not have cheat codes, and it never got a console in seven years of patches. What it has is a sandbox setup screen that decides how much you start with, from 75,000 credits on Normal down to 25,000 on Expert, and a set of feature toggles that make the economy kinder. Beyond that screen the free route ends, and influence is where it ends first.

Takeaways Anno 1800 starting capital, and the number the trainer picks

  1. 75,000 credits on Normal Full construction refunds, free relocation
  2. 50,000 credits on Advanced Half refunds, relocation costs money
  3. 25,000 credits on Expert No refunds, no relocation
  4. 50,000 the free trainer switch sets credits to Exactly the Advanced start, any time you press it

The setup screen is the only cheat the game ships

Anno 1800 came out on 16 April 2019 and finished its run with the fourth season in 2022. Across all of it, there is no console and no code entry. The nearest thing to a cheat menu is the sandbox setup, and it is worth reading properly, because it does more than most people click through.

The three presets set the start, according to the sandbox mode page on the Anno 1800 wiki:

PresetStarting capitalRefunds on demolitionRelocation
Normal75,000FullFree
Advanced50,000HalfCosts money
Expert25,000NoneNot allowed

Behind the presets is a custom tab. Income can be set to high, inactive upkeep switched off, trading post restocks made common, city incidents set to easy, quest frequency raised. Starting conditions add a trade fleet or a war fleet, a full harbour, a large capital and a revealed map. Set every one of those to the easy side and the first two hours are a different game.

None of it costs achievements, because the game does not have a cheat flag. That makes the setup screen the best free cheat in Anno 1800, and the only one.

What the screen cannot reach

Three numbers sit outside it.

Credits after the start. The capital is a one-time figure. High income helps, but a city that builds oil harbours and a zoo is a city that runs at minus 2,000 a minute for a while, and the screen has no top-up.

Influence. This is the quiet cap. Ships, trade routes, islands, the culture buildings and the propaganda each spend influence, and influence grows with population and with nothing else. There is no slider for it anywhere in the setup. A player at 400 investors who wants a third New World island waits for the number to tick.

Research. The research institute from Land of Lions runs on research points, and the points come from scholars, who come from the population tier above the one you are trying to reach.

Mods reach some of this, and Anno 1800 has a healthy mod loader scene. But a mod is a file in the game folder that changes the rules for the save, and the trainer’s whole argument is that it does not.

Where the trainer starts

The Anno 1800 trainer lists 17 cheats, five of them free. The free five are worth a look, because they are not the usual sample. One sets credits to exactly 50,000, which is the Advanced start, at any point in the game. Two fill an open harbour to at least half on every good, and a third does the same for oil. The fifth is plus 10 influence, which is the cap above, moved by hand.

The premium group is the three numbers. Credits in steps: plus 10,000, plus 100,000, plus a million. Max influence. Increase research points. Then the goods side of it, max all resources and max available resources in an open harbour, and golden tickets for the World’s Fair.

Four more are the parts of the game that happen away from the island. Full expedition morale, so the ship comes back. Max diplomacy value with the screen open, so the neighbour stops asking. Godmode for a ship. Instant build in the selected shipyard.

What is not on the list is a workforce switch or a happiness switch. Anno 1800 ties both to houses and needs, and the trainer leaves the city to you.

Setup screen or trainer

The setup screen for the start. It is free, it is thorough, and most of what makes Expert hard is a toggle there.

The trainer for the mid-game, when the capital is spent, the influence bar is full and the expedition is three quests from home. It changes values in memory on your own PC and puts nothing in the game folder.

The island you lay out is still the one you had in mind. The trainer just stops you waiting for the next tier to pay for it.

Does Anno 1800 have cheat codes?

No. There is no code entry and no console on PC or on the console edition. Cheating in Anno 1800 means the sandbox settings, a mod, or a trainer.

How do you get unlimited money in Anno 1800?

Not from the game. The sandbox setup lets you pick Normal, Advanced or Expert, which sets 75,000, 50,000 or 25,000 starting credits, and a feature tab that sets income to high. A trainer adds credits in steps of 10,000, 100,000 or a million.

What is influence and why can you not cheat it in the settings?

Influence is the cap on ships, trade routes, islands and some buildings, and it grows with population. The sandbox screen has no slider for it. The trainer has a free +10 Influence switch and a Max Influence switch.

Do the cheats work in Anno 1800 multiplayer?

They are for the session you run alone. A trainer changes values on your own PC, and this page is single-player only.
