Why cheats make sense in Football Manager 2024

You do not play the matches, you prepare for them, and the preparation is a spreadsheet: pace, finishing, determination, match sharpness, morale, fitness. A season turns on numbers you can influence only indirectly through training and rotation. The trainer sets them directly, along with the transfer budget and club balance that decide who you can sign in the first place.

  • Forty-nine attribute switches

    Every technical, mental and physical attribute a player has. The game's entire simulation runs on these values, which is why the trainer treats them individually rather than as a package.

  • Money is two separate numbers

    Club balance and transfer budget, each with add and subtract, and the subtract versions are free. A board that will not release funds is the most common reason a good season stalls in January.

  • Condition is as important as ability

    Match sharpness, fitness, morale, each with a full and a weak setting. A squad of stars at 60 percent condition loses to a fit mid table side, which is the part new managers learn the hard way.
