- Funds ammo, gear and vending machine purchases ahead of what looting alone provides.

Why cheats make sense in Borderlands 2
Money, Eridium, Seraph crystals, Torgue tokens and golden keys each buy something different, and each is earned in a different activity. Badass tokens come from challenges you complete by accident over a hundred hours. The trainer moves all of them, which turns the endgame grind into a choice rather than a schedule.

Five currencies, five grinds
Money, Eridium, Badass tokens, Seraph crystals and Torgue tokens each have their own cheat. Each comes from a different part of the game, and none of them converts. -
Inventory space is a purchase
Plus and minus item slots, and unlock four weapon slots. Carrying capacity in Borderlands is bought with Eridium, which means a full backpack is an economy problem. -
Golden keys were a marketing device
Plus one golden key is a cheat because the game distributed them through SHiFT codes posted on social media. The chest they open is in Sanctuary, and the keys are not.
