Phasmophobia Cheat Sheet: 30 Ghosts, Evidence, Speed
Thirty ghosts, seven evidence types, three per ghost. That is the whole identification game in Phasmophobia, and it fits in one table. Below it: which evidence a ghost is forced to give on Nightmare, which combinations never appear, and how to tell two ghosts apart when the journal will not.
Takeaways Phasmophobia by the numbers
- 30 ghost types Dayan, Obambo and Gallu came in December 2025
- 7 evidence types Every ghost gives exactly three
- 5 combinations no ghost has Rule them out on sight
- 50% hunt sanity, standard Eleven ghosts break that rule
The table
Evidence assignments follow the Evidence page of the Phasmophobia wiki, speed and hunt thresholds follow its guide to identifying ghosts. Standard speed is 1.7 m/s with line-of-sight acceleration, standard hunt threshold 50 percent average sanity. Where a cell says “standard”, the ghost does nothing unusual there.
| Ghost | Evidence | Hunts at | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aswang | D.O.T.S., Freezing, Writing | 50% | 1.53 m/s, accelerates in 8.67 s instead of 13 |
| Banshee | D.O.T.S., Orb, Ultraviolet | target’s sanity, not average | standard |
| Dayan | EMF 5, Orb, Spirit Box | 65% if you move nearby, 45% if you stand still | 2.25 m/s moving, 1.2 m/s still |
| Deildegast | EMF 5, Writing, D.O.T.S. | 50% | 3.0 m/s minus 0.1 per item you touched, floor 0.4 |

“Freezing” is Freezing Temperatures, “Writing” is Ghost Writing, “Orb” is Ghost Orb, “D.O.T.S.” is the D.O.T.S. Projector. Ultraviolet was called Fingerprints before the equipment rework.
Five combinations belong to nobody
Seven evidence types give 35 possible sets of three. Thirty ghosts use thirty of them. The five left over are worth memorising, because two confirmed pieces of evidence plus one of these means you are reading the wrong evidence somewhere:
- D.O.T.S. Projector, Freezing Temperatures, Spirit Box
- D.O.T.S. Projector, Freezing Temperatures, Ultraviolet
- EMF Level 5, Freezing Temperatures, Ghost Orb
- EMF Level 5, Ghost Orb, Ghost Writing
- Ghost Orb, Ghost Writing, Ultraviolet
On Nightmare, some evidence cannot hide
Nightmare shows two of a ghost’s three evidence types, Insanity shows one, and the game picks which to hide at the start of the contract. Five ghosts refuse to hide a specific one. Deogen and Moroi always give Spirit Box. Goryo always gives D.O.T.S., and only through a video camera with nobody in the room. Hantu always gives Freezing Temperatures. Obake always gives Ultraviolet, and one in six of its prints has six fingers.
The Mimic is the odd one. Its Ghost Orbs are not one of its three, they are a fourth thing bolted on, present even with evidence set to zero. Orbs plus any two of Ultraviolet, Freezing and Spirit Box is a Mimic until proven otherwise.
When the journal is no help, the ghost still tells you
Speed is the most reliable tell, because footstep rate follows it. A ghost that crawls at you until it sees you and then closes at 3 m/s is a Revenant. One that sprints from across the map and stops dead in front of you is a Deogen. One that gets faster the colder the room gets, and breathes fog with the fuse box off, is a Hantu. Thaye and Deildegast both start fast and slow down, but the Thaye slows with time near players and the Deildegast slows with every object you have touched.
A few behaviours settle it outright. A photo that makes the ghost vanish from the frame is a Phantom. Two interactions within a second of each other in different rooms is the Twins. Lights switched off the moment you switch them on, repeatedly, points at a Mare. A ghost that wanders through salt without leaving a print is a Wraith, and one that will not enter a room you are standing in is a Shade.
Where the cheats come in
The table above is what the game wants you to use. The Phasmophobia trainer is what you use when you would rather not. It lists 17 cheats, six of them free, and two of them are built for exactly this page: Scratch Some Wrong Evidence and Scratch Nearly All Wrong Evidence, both triggered by clicking the evidence tab in the journal. The first narrows the list, the second leaves you confirming instead of hunting.
The other fifteen are about surviving long enough to read the journal at all. Six lock or unlock hinge, slide and cloth doors separately, three of the locks free. Three change the flashlight, from the default torch to a lantern to a strong beam. Godmode and unlimited stamina sit next to three movement speeds, two of them free, and there is a buy-for-free switch for the equipment between contracts.
Single-player only. Nothing here belongs in a lobby with other people, and the trainer has no effect there anyway.
Infographic Phasmophobia by the numbers Click to enlarge Is the Phasmophobia cheat sheet a list of cheats?
No. Cheat sheet is the community name for the evidence table that maps each ghost to its three evidence types. It is a reference, and the game expects you to use one. Actual cheats for the PC version are a different thing, covered at the end of this page.
Which Phasmophobia ghosts have guaranteed evidence on Nightmare?
Deogen and Moroi always give Spirit Box, Goryo always gives D.O.T.S., Hantu always gives Freezing Temperatures, Obake always gives Ultraviolet. The Mimic adds Ghost Orbs on top of its three, even when the difficulty gives zero evidence.
What is the normal ghost speed in Phasmophobia?
1.7 metres per second, and most ghosts accelerate when they have line of sight on a player for long enough. Revenant, Deogen, Hantu, Thaye, Moroi, Raiju, Jinn, Dayan, Deildegast, Gallu, Kormos, Obambo, Aswang and the Twins all break that rule one way or another.
Does Phasmophobia have cheat codes or console commands?
No. There is no console and no code entry in Phasmophobia. Cheats for the PC version come from third-party tools, and only for contracts you run alone.
How many evidence types do you get on Nightmare and Insanity?
Two on Nightmare, one on Insanity, three on everything below. Custom difficulty can set it to zero, at which point the table above is useless and behaviour is all you have.
