- The other direction: rolls a character back five years, useful for a ruler about to die at the wrong moment for the succession.

- Character skills decide who you can scheme against and who you can talk out of a war. This adds to diplomacy directly, ahead of the events that would normally raise it.

Ambitions in this game run over decades, and dying at the wrong moment hands the result to a cousin you have never met. Age plus five and minus five are both free cheats, which is a very Crusader Kings solution to a very Crusader Kings problem.

Four currencies that do not convert
Gold, prestige, piety and renown each have their own add and reset switches, nine cheats in total. A war needs gold, a claim needs piety, a marriage needs prestige, and having plenty of one does not help with the others. -
The lifestyle skills decide who you are
Diplomacy, martial, stewardship, intrigue, learning and prowess each get a plus ten switch. Those six numbers shape every event roll, and raising them takes a lifetime, literally. -
Age is a mechanic
Plus five years, minus five years and set age to zero are all free. Succession is the core of the game, and the timing of a death decides more campaigns than any battle does.
